The purpose of the Australian Shepherd Club of Victoria Inc. is ....
- To
encourage and promote the breeding of purebred Australian Shepherds in
such a manner as to bring their natural qualities to the highest degree
attainable. It shall strive to educate and assist all owners of the
breed to improve their knowledge of the breed and its history.

To
promote the holding of Exhibitions under the VCA Rules and Regulations
and to conduct training classes, members competitions, exhibitions as
from time to time may be declared by the Committee.

To
collect, verify and publish information relating to dogs and the
breeding, exhibition, training and trialing of dogs including the
Australian Shepherd.

To obtain affiliation with the Victorian Canine Association (VCA) and maintain such affiliation.

To
educate and encourage members, breeders and judges to abide by the
requirements and standards approved by the VCA for the conduct of
exhibitions and trials.

To promote good fellowship
and sportsmanship amongst members and those participating in or
attending exhibitions, shows and trials.

To inform
members of and make known to them the Laws and Regulations of the State
relating to the ownership and care of dogs, and the responsibility of
owners for the conduct and actions of their dogs.

To hold functions and lectures relating to dogs and to the purposes of the Club generally.

To provide awards and donate prizes for competitions and exhibitions
and for the competition by breeders and exhibitors of dogs.

To foster relations with other Clubs and bodies having similar aims.

To promote and encourage responsibility amongst breeders in all matters
relating to their activities as breeders and the provisions of the
Australian Shepherd.

To invest the funds of the Club
not immediately required in such a manner as the members, or the
Committee in lieu thereof, shall determine.

To initiate measures to ensure improvement of quality and the continued health and well being of the Australian Shepherd: and

To do all such other things as may be necessary or conducive to carrying out the objects of the Club.
